Refund Policy
Effective 2026-06-20. This policy summarizes when a buyer is eligible for a refund, who pays for it, and how to request one.
1. The 30-day dispute window
You can open a dispute within 30 days of the delivery date on any order from the order tracker. After 30 days, the order is considered final and the seller's funds release.
2. Eligible refund reasons
- Item not received. Tracking shows undelivered ≥10 days past the carrier's expected arrival.
- Not as described. The card you received is materially different from the listing — wrong card, wrong grade, undisclosed damage.
- Damaged in transit. The slab or card arrived broken. Photo evidence required.
- Counterfeit. Third-party authentication concludes the card is a reprint or fake.
3. Not eligible
- Buyer's remorse — you changed your mind, the player got hurt, the market moved against you.
- Condition complaints when the listing photos accurately showed the condition.
- Disputes opened more than 30 days after delivery.
- You damaged the card after receiving it.
4. Optional buyer protection
At checkout you can add Buyer Protection (+$0.99). This extends the dispute window to 60 days and our team handles the dispute end-to-end with no back-and-forth required.
5. Authentication seal
If the listing carried our optional Authentication Seal (charged to the seller, $15 per listing over $250), we guarantee authenticity. A successful authenticity dispute results in a full refund and we absorb the loss — the seller is not double-charged.
6. Who pays
- Seller error (wrong card, undisclosed damage, counterfeit): seller refunds the buyer, including the original shipping cost.
- Carrier loss (item not received with shipping insurance): insurance pays, seller is not out of pocket.
- Carrier loss without insurance: seller refunds the buyer. Encourage adding insurance on orders over $50.
- Buyer-side issue (wrong address, refused delivery, false dispute): seller keeps the funds; buyer may pay return shipping.
7. Process
- Buyer opens the dispute from the order page within 30 days.
- Seller has 5 days to respond with their side + evidence.
- If parties agree, the refund is processed immediately.
- If not, our moderator reviews within 48 hours and decides.
- Decisions can be appealed once via support — they're final after appeal.
8. Refund timing
- Card / Apple Pay / Google Pay: refund posted to your statement within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank.
- Rip&List credit: posted instantly to your account.
- Crypto: refunded to the original wallet within 24 hours.
9. Chargebacks
Filing a chargeback with your bank before opening a Rip&List dispute results in account suspension. We have a 30-day dispute process designed to be faster and fairer than a bank chargeback. Use it.
