Terms of Service
Effective 2026-05-13. By creating an account or using Rip&List you agree to these terms.
1. Account
You must be 18+ (or have a guardian's consent in jurisdictions where the age of contract is lower) to register. You are responsible for keeping your password and 2FA codes secret; activity on your account is your responsibility. We may require email or identity verification before unlocking higher selling limits.
2. What you can list
- Sports trading cards only. Listings for anything else (counterfeit cards, stolen goods, weapons, adult content, drugs, etc.) will be removed and may result in suspension.
- Authenticity is the seller's responsibility. Don't list reprints, custom prints, fakes, or altered cards as authentic. Graded slabs must reference the real serial number; we cross-check.
- Accurate condition. Describe wear, creases, surface defects, and any tampering honestly. "NM" / "PSA 10" etc. must be truthful.
- Photos must be yours (or properly licensed). We run perceptual-hash and reverse-image checks; stolen photos trigger automatic flags.
- One listing per inventory item. No duplicating the same card across multiple listings to game search ranking.
3. Fees, payouts, and refunds
Rip&List takes a marketplace fee on each completed sale (see /seller/payouts). Payouts are routed through Stripe Connect; sellers must complete Stripe onboarding before receiving funds. Buyers may request refunds within 7 days of delivery for items materially different from the listing description. High-value orders ($500+) are held in escrow until the buyer confirms receipt.
4. Buyer responsibilities
- Pay promptly. Unpaid auctions can lead to bidding restrictions.
- Don't make offers you can't honor.
- Inspect items promptly on delivery and open disputes within 7 days, not months later.
5. Prohibited conduct
- Fraud, chargeback abuse, shill bidding, fee circumvention (taking transactions off-platform after Rip&List connects buyer and seller).
- Harassment, hate speech, slurs, vulgar usernames or storefront handles. We auto-block clear cases at signup and reserve the right to rename or suspend on review.
- Impersonating other users, employees, or notable collectors.
- Scraping, crawling, or extracting data via automation without a written exception. The public API at /api/v2 is what's available.
- Posting links to phishing pages, malware, or external marketplaces in listings, messages, or forums.
6. Suspension and appeals
We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations. Suspended users can submit one appeal via the suspended-account page; we review within 1–2 business days. Repeat violations may lead to permanent ban and forfeiture of pending payouts to cover chargebacks or buyer refunds.
7. Disputes
Buyer–seller disputes are resolved through the in-app dispute flow first. Open a dispute within 7 days of delivery; the seller has 3 business days to respond. Rip&List may intervene to mediate or refund at our discretion. Disputes against Rip&List itself are governed by binding arbitration on an individual (not class) basis, in the state where the operating entity is registered.
8. Intellectual property
You retain rights to content you upload (your own listing photos, bios, etc.) but grant Rip&List a worldwide royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote that content for the operation of the marketplace. Card images we source from public-CDN player headshots remain property of the leagues / players they depict.
9. Data, privacy, and account deletion
How we handle your data is covered in the Privacy Policy. You can export or delete your account at any time from Settings → Your data + delete. Order and payout records are retained for tax compliance even after deletion.
10. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced via the site banner and email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
11. Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is." Rip&List is not liable for indirect, consequential, or lost-profit damages arising from use of the marketplace. Total liability is capped at the fees you paid Rip&List in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Contact
Support: in-app chat or open a support ticket from your settings.
